Investing in the Future - Where the Money Goes

September 2015

As a not-for-profit organisation, SPE Aberdeen holds various events throughout the year to fund a huge number of initiatives designed to support schools, young people, students and teachers.

The Offshore Achievement Awards therefore not only recognises those companies and employees making a significant contribution to the energy industry, but any profit received by SPE Aberdeen from the event is reinvested straight back into these projects to encourage the next generation of STEM inspired employees.

Over the years, the SPE Aberdeen section has invested thousands of pounds to support schools, young people, students and teachers. These projects include funding school workshops and competitions, running CV workshops, funding online learning tools where students and teachers can find out more about the industry, as well as providing over £20,000 in bursaries each year.

By attending and supporting our events, you are playing a part in developing the industry’s future. From the cost of booking a table, to sponsoring a category at the Offshore Achievement Awards, profit received by SPE Aberdeen will continue to be used to fund initiatives that ensure today’s young people remain interested in energy.
