Students Showcase Award Trophy Concepts

November 2015

The search for the next Offshore Achievement Awards trophy is officially on, with 15 students showcasing their ideas at principal sponsor, TAQA's Westhill premises last Thursday.

In collaboration with Gray’s School of Art and TAQA, 3rd year Product Design students are tasked with designing and manufacturing the award trophies which will be handed out to the OAA winners at the ceremony in March next year.

We are thrilled each year to see such innovative and creative designs coming through from Gray’s, which truly make the awards one of a kind.

Student and participant, Amy Lawson, said:

“It’s been a really fun and challenging project so far, and it’s the first time we’ve had to be competitive with each other.”

Fellow student and participant, Eilidh Earle-Mitchell added:

“It’s also the first time that we’ve had to work for a client which has let us experience working in the real world and taught us skills outside of the classroom.”

All students now must create their prototype of the award, which will be presented at MAKE on the 19th of November. At this time, the winner will be announced and the completed trophy will be revealed in February next year ahead of the ceremony.
