CASE STUDY: TAQA win 2017 Outstanding Skills Development Programme award for Offshore Supervisors Development Programme.

Camilla Winther, Learning and Development Advisor, lead the work and the cross-functional team that devised the award-winning TAQA programme, Successfully Supervising the TAQA way. To date, the ambitious project has involved more than 200 offshore supervisors and is now part of the formal training structure at TAQA in the UK.
The prime aim of the exercise was to ensure supervisors are as well-equipped as possible to perform their central role as line managers in front-line safety and production efficiency.
Camilla said: “Our programme provides a new professional development opportunity for supervisors, not only adding a fresh dimension to their training environment but also supporting our work to retain talented individuals in our industry.
A year after the programme won at the OAAs, the company has fond memories of the awards night, and is urging others to take up the opportunity to enter.
Camilla said: “The Offshore Achievement Awards was a great opportunity for us to showcase our work and our achievements. It was wonderful to even be shortlisted and I was personally very proud when we then went on to win the award.
“For our department and for the business, it meant a lot, and it was recognition of the contribution made by everyone involved in the Successfully Supervising the TAQA way programme.
“I would absolutely encourage other companies to enter the Offshore Achievement Awards. It has been a fantastic experience for us.
“Being part of the process and having the chance to promote what we do was great. The awards were also an excellent platform for us to learn from other entrants. Industry wide, we can learn a lot from each-other and as well as celebrating success, it was beneficial to share experiences and give each-other ideas to learn from.”
