Young Entrepreneur Recognised in Two OAA Categories

February 2019

DeltaTek Global have been shortlisted twice at this year's OAAs, both in the Emerging Technology and Young Professional category. Here we speak to Young Professional nominee, Tristam Horn about what it would mean to win the prestigious trophies.

Tell us why you entered your business into the OAAs.

"There were a number of reasons why we chose to enter the Offshore Achievement Awards this year. The awards are longstanding and well respected within the oil and gas industry, so we were keen that these be the first awards that we entered our SeaCure technology into. I was convinced by my colleagues that I should also enter the Young Professional’s category, and with their help, I am delighted that DeltaTek was shortlisted for not one, but two awards."

What does it mean to your team to be a finalist, and how would it feel to win?

"We’ve worked incredibly hard to create a business and technologies that make a genuine difference to the industry, being nominated for the Emerging Technology category goes to show that SeaCure is a game-changer. If we were to go on to win, it would be amazing. We believe that SeaCure has the ability to revolutionise the subsea cementing process and ultimately save rig time, and this platform allows us the opportunity and recognition from the industry to continue making a difference."

In your opinion, how do awards like these support your business and the industry in general?

"For the industry as a whole, awards like the OAAs allow businesses to showcase up and coming technologies and the incredible work that both businesses and individuals within the oil and gas industry are doing to truly make a difference or improve the industry."

What are you most looking forward to when you attend the OAAs on the night?

"We’re looking forward to celebrating our success – regardless of the outcome on the night. We have achieved a lot in a relatively short space of time, and I suppose the night itself allows us to take stock and really enjoy it. Then there’s the bonus of being able to network with others in the industry."

Winners of the 2019 Offshore Achievement Awards will be announced at a black tie ceremony on Thursday 14 March 2019. View the full shortlist through our finalists page
