Finalist Spotlight: Viewport3

A newcomer to the Offshore Achievement Awards, Viewport3 is up for Great Company (SME) at this year’s awards. We spoke to Director, Richard Drennan about how it feels to be nominated for this award when the business was only established in 2017.
Transparency is essential in the oil and gas sector.
“Our customers get maximum value from our work when they completely trust our results, by giving them the confidence to negate costly contingency plans and therefore reduce expenditure. We’ve found that allowing clients an authentic insight into our business from the outset is the best way to promote that type of relationship.”
We moved from our first office in Ellon to Dyce in May last year.
“We’re way too close to many types of junk food but we’re working hard on our will-power for 2020!
“Showcasing from afar the full 3D detail of the information we collect for clients can be challenging , so it’s great to now be located where customers can easily visit us and see the results in person. Ellon was a great place to work but being closer to the majority of our clients does also help reduce our time on the road and of course our carbon footprint.”
Considering where we started our business journey and the early days of Viewport3, it is hugely humbling to be nominated for an OAA award.
“Our aim was to solve problems simply for industry and if possible, provide employment opportunities for the huge pool of talent we have in Aberdeen. We like to think that our adherence to simple business principles and our deliberately open culture, has gone a long way in being recognised by the OAA.”
