Young Professional finalists unveiled

February 2020

This award, sponsored by Chrysaor, highlights and promotes the next generation of leaders across the offshore industry, including oil and gas and renewables.

From seventeen initial applications, a shortlist of seven finalists were invited to participate in a meticulous interview process with a panel of industry experts, all bringing forth an impressive skill set and strong ambition.

In previous years, the interview stage has seen judges agree a shortlist of three. This year the judges selected five finalists, highlighting the exceptionally strong field of nominations received.

The five finalists are:

  • Erin Ingram, TAQA
  • Pippa Jones, CNOOC International
  • Gavin Morris, Bilfinger Salamis
  • Matej Svoboda, OPEX Group
  • Peter Tipler, Xodus

Ian Phillips, Chair of the Offshore Achievements Committee and Young Professional category judge said:

“Every year I look forward to the interview stage of the Young Professional category as the calibre of entries is always high - and 2020 was no different. The judging panel were blown away by the admirable career achievements of these rising stars, making the judges’ decision as tough as ever.  Our decision to shortlist five candidates shows that the future of the oil and gas industry is in safe hands.
“We want to extend our thanks to everyone who took the time to enter this award and highly commend our shortlist, who should be justifiably proud of themselves and their efforts.”

The 34th Offshore Achievements Awards, sponsored by TAQA, will take place at P&J Live on 19 March 2020. Winners will take home a prestigious trophy designed by Gray’s School of Art student and competition winner Rachel Mackay, whose concept embodies the key themes of technology and innovation.
